Meet Rebecca Black

(BAppSc (Psych) (Hons), MCounsPsych)

Rebecca is a registered psychologist who is passionate about supporting individuals to thrive in both performance and life. She works from a strengths-based, evidence-informed approach, helping people build self-awareness, resilience, and psychological flexibility so they can perform at their best without losing sight of who they are beyond their role.

Rebecca brings a warm, grounded, and authentic style to her work, creating a space where individuals feel supported to navigate pressure, manage challenges, and stay connected to their values in high-demand environments.

She spent five years as a Performance Psychologist for the Melbourne AFLW, where she supported individual athletes to optimise performance while prioritising wellbeing and overall identity. Her role involved working closely with coaches and high-performance staff, as well as designing and facilitating workshops to strengthen team cohesion, connection, and alignment. During this time, the club achieved its inaugural AFLW premiership.

Rebecca is also the Founder and Director of The Mindful Birth Movement, reflecting her dual area of practice in perinatal psychology. Through this work, she supports women and families to navigate the transition to parenthood with greater confidence, self-compassion, and alignment.

Earlier in her career, Rebecca worked within organisations including Victoria Police and the Department of Justice, where she conducted psychological assessments and contributed to mental health initiatives.
